Basra palm grove fires extinguished, 20 trees destroyed
BASRA — Firefighters in the Al-Medina district, north of Basra, extinguished fires in two palm groves, reportedly started by children playing with fire. The blazes resulted in the destruction of about 20 palm trees but did not cause any injuries.
The source told 964media that the fires erupted in palm groves situated in the Al-Jazeera and Al-Ali sectors of the Al-Medina district.
Civil Defense squads in the Al-Medina district promptly managed and extinguished the fires, preventing any injuries.
