University of Nineveh hosts charity art sale to benefit area thalassemia patients

MOSUL — The College of Electronic Engineering at the University of Nineveh held a charity art sale to support patients with thalassemia, a blood disorder requiring regular blood transfusions.

Students showcased various artwork including calligraphy, paintings, woven goods, and glass pieces, alongside traditional Mosul dishes. A portion of the proceeds from sales went towards a fund for thalassemia patients.

The event, marked by vibrant displays and diverse participants, highlighted community solidarity in advocating for those suffering from the blood disease.

Participants shared their experiences and the event’s significance. Taiba Nasir, an artist showing copper and silver pieces, confirmed that participants had pledged a portion of their sales to benefit patients.

Student participant Zainab Abdul Khaliq, who sold one of her paintings, expressed the dedication of students like herself who contributed artistic works.

University media department representative Tawfiq Younis Ali confirmed that proceeds from the event, including handmade arts and crafts, would benefit children with thalassemia. He also mentioned a university blood donation campaign specifically for affected children.
