Najafi man celebrates birthday by gifting 100 school desks

NAJAF, August 21 — A young man from Najaf chose to celebrate his 31st birthday in a unique way by donating 100 desks to local schools.

Laith Mohammed works at Najaf International Airport and is known for his active involvement in volunteer activities such as tree planting, repairing potholes, and other humanitarian initiatives across the governorate.

Mohammed told 964: “I decided to break the pattern of birthday celebrations. Instead of receiving gifts on my birthday, I chose to give them out, especially after receiving a request from a parent. It happened to coincide with my birthday.”

“I purchased these desks with my own money and donated 25 desks each to schools like Al-Mustafa Intermediate School in Kufa, along with other elementary schools such as Ibn Ja’far School and Sayyid Ibrahim School.”
