Governor of Nineveh promises development and security in Sinjar

NINEVEH — Governor of Nineveh, Abdulqader Al-Dakhil, announced on Monday a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing development and security in the Sinjar district. During his official visit to the area, he met with social dignitaries, security leaders, and local officials.

In a meeting with the dignitaries of Sinjar, attended by 964media, Al-Dakhil emphasized the importance of justice and defending the rights of the Yazidis as part of his humanitarian, ethical, and legal commitment as the governor.

He disclosed plans to construct a 100-bed hospital in Sinjar and addressed the issue of compensations effectively. He also talked about the government’s efforts in the execution of a water project in Sinjar, Tal Afar, and Ba’aj, aiming to provide essential services to citizens and enhance the region’s infrastructure.

Al-Dakhil clarified that his visit was service-oriented rather than ceremonial and announced intentions to elect a new administration for the district. “The focus will be on improving the security and administrative situation in Sinjar, with the necessary support provided to achieve these goals and enhance the well-being of the area’s residents”, he concluded.

Sinjar is one of the most affected areas by the ISIS war and the atrocities that were committed by the group. The aftermath of the war in the area is still felt by the locals as a result of the presence of conflicting authorities and forces in the city and its suburbs.
