Iraqi central bank sells $213 million in foreign currency

BAGHDAD — The Central Bank of Iraq announced Sunday that its sales of foreign currency exceeded $213 million in today’s transactions, according to the official rate of 1,310 Iraqi dinars per U.S. dollar.

Bank data showed that total cash withdrawals amounted to $14,590,000, while the total amount of transfers abroad, including remittances and credits, reached $199,082,851. The overall sales amounted to $213,672,851. The rate on the open market is 1520 dinars to the dollar.
