University student dead in Kirkuk car crash
KIRKUK — A vehicle collision near a petrol station in Kirkuk resulted in one university student’s death and injuries to three others, local police and medical sources reported Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when a pickup truck lost control due to excessive speed, collided with a signboard of a petrol station, overturned, and caught fire, according to Mufawez Ali Mohammed of Kirkuk Traffic Police. All victims were students at the Ahl Qalam University.
A medical source from Azadi Hospital in Kirkuk confirmed that besides the deceased, three students sustained serious injuries and were transported to the hospital via ambulance.
