Kata’ib Hezbollah suspends military operations against US forces

BAGHDAD, January 30 — The Secretary-General of Kata’ib Hezbollah, Abu Hussein Al-Hamidawi, has announced a suspension of military and security operations against American forces in Iraq and Syria. He also said that Iran is “unaware of our jihadist work’s nature.”

The following is the text of their statement:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,
(Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.)

The path of thorns is difficult and arduous, and its tolls are heavy. The free who walk this path realize that no matter how great the costs, they are insignificant in the pursuit of God’s pleasure and the support of the oppressed. The Islamic Resistance, Kata’ib Hezbollah, has made its decision to support our oppressed people in steadfast Gaza of its own will, without any interference from others. Indeed, our brothers in the axis, especially in the Islamic Republic, are unaware of our jihadist work’s nature, and they often objected to pressuring and escalating against the American occupation forces in Iraq and Syria. Committed to our human and ideological duty, we have acted with wisdom, consideration, and precise observance of religious and ethical balances in the most severe and harshest conditions.

We hereby announce the suspension of military and security operations against the occupation forces – to spare the Iraqi government embarrassment. However, we will continue to defend our people in Gaza through other means. We advise the brave free warriors of Kata’ib Hezbollah to adopt a defensive posture (temporarily) in case of any American hostile action against them, (that Allah might accomplish a matter already ordained in His knowledge, and to Allah are all matters returned).
