100% success rate

Primary school director shares success stories and challenges

BASRA, January 28 — Al-Diyaghim Primary School has achieved remarkable success, even in the absence of government support, near Oil Well 20, sometimes achieving a 100% success rate.

Hussein Ali, the school director, shared insights into their achievements:

The school was established in 2003 and is situated in front of Oil Well 20. It serves as a nurturing ground for students in the Lothan area and its surroundings.

A successful leader doesn’t rely solely on government support to achieve high success rates. Instead, they consistently work on building positive social relationships that contribute to the school’s development. The support we receive from the Education Directorate, which is limited to textbooks and field trips, is inadequate for nurturing the future leaders of society.

In the academic year 2022-2023, we achieved a 100% success rate for completed stages, while the success rate for ongoing stages reached 85%.

Our school accommodates 289 students, some of whom come from agricultural areas near the oil wells in the western Burjesia area.

Unfortunately, we do not have access to running water at the school, and we typically use well water, which is unsuitable for drinking or even washing.

I have taken it upon myself to address the school’s problems and shortcomings. I personally funded the installation of a surveillance camera system, established a drinking water system, and beautified the school to create a conducive environment for our students.
