Iraqi officer excels at Qatari military college

DIYALA, Iraq, Jan. 27 — An Iraqi Lieutenant has earned top honors at Qatar’s Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College.

Amir Khudhair Abbas, originally from Khales in Diyala, has achieved the highest distinction in International Relations.

In an interview with 964media, Lt. Abbas said, “I was among five students selected from the first Iraqi Military College for training at the Ahmed bin Mohammed Military College in Qatar. My four-and-a-half-years of study at the college involved rigorous training and education.”

He earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations, graduating at the top of his class with honors. Lt. Abbas was recognized for this achievement by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Abbas also received a diploma in Qatari Military Sciences. This included excelling in the Special Forces program, where he achieved the highest rank with distinction, and completing the Parachute Jumping Course.

Lt. Abbas was honored during a grand review in Qatar, celebrating the graduation of the nineteenth and twentieth batches. He secured the top position in International Relations among 315 international students.

The graduation ceremony and military review were attended by Deputy Chief of Staff for Training Maj. Gen. Hamed Mohammed Kamr, representing the Minister of Defense.

Lt. Abbas dedicated his graduation and accomplishments to his parents and his homeland, expressing a commitment to serve his country with all his capabilities.
