Al-Sudani visits infrastructure projects in Nasiriyah

BAGHDAD, January 8 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani visited infrastructure project sites in Nasiriyah on Monday to monitor the progress of work on the corniche and maintenance of the Martyrs of Zaytoun Suspension Bridge.

A statement from the Prime Minister’s office said:

On Monday morning, Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani conducted an inspection tour to monitor progress of ongoing work on the corniche in the city of Nasiriyah and the rehabilitation and maintenance of the Martyrs of Zaytoun Suspension Bridge in Dhi Qar governorate.

His Excellency [Al-Sudani] was briefed on details of the work in both projects, emphasizing the need to adopt the best specifications and adhere to the approved timelines for implementation.

The corniche project includes stone cladding and pavement, pouring concrete terraces on both sides of the corniche and the bridge, the garden strip, as well as work in the celebration square, paving floors, pathways, and the marble wall on both sides of the corniche.

The current completion rate for the corniche project is 27 percent, surpassing the planned completion rate of 17 percent.

Regarding the Martyrs of Zaytoun Suspension Bridge rehabilitation project, the current completion rate is 50 percent, with expectations to conclude the work by mid-year.
