Kuwait confirms discovery of bodies of missing citizens in Iraq
ANBAR, December 26 — Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah announced on Tuesday the discovery of two bodies belonging to a Kuwaiti citizen and another holding Saudi citizenship, residing in Kuwait, who went missing in the Anbar Governorate yesterday.
The Kuwait News Agency “KUNA” reported, in a news story followed by 964media:
“Kuwait’s Foreign Minister, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, announced on Tuesday that Iraqi authorities have found the bodies of a missing Kuwaiti citizen and another holding Saudi citizenship, both residents of Kuwait, who disappeared in the Anbar Governorate recently.
Minister Al-Sabah expressed his pain and sorrow over this distressing news, praying to Allah to grant them mercy, and extend patience and solace to their families. He conveyed his sincere condolences to the families of the two victims in this tragedy.
The Minister affirmed that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been closely coordinating with Iraqi authorities, who exerted significant efforts to locate them promptly. Coordination is ongoing with the Iraqi government to understand the circumstances of the incident and the results of the ongoing investigations. The Minister also instructed the Kuwaiti embassy in Baghdad to follow up and complete the necessary procedures in this regard.
Minister Al-Sabah commended the commendable efforts made by the Iraqi leadership and authorities to quickly determine the fate of the two individuals.”
