Iraq embassy in Ankara inaugurates new passport system

ANKARA, August 2 – Iraq’s embassy in Ankara inaugurated a new passport issuance system on Tuesday to help process expedited documents for citizens abroad.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said:

“Ambassador [Majed] Al-Lajmawi said at the opening ceremony that this step comes under the direction of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein in order to provide the best services to Iraqi citizens residing in the Republic of Turkey. Within the framework of the Ministry’s plan to expand the provision of electronic services, and to automate consular work, whether inside or outside Iraq.

Al-Lajmawi added that the opening of this system will greatly contribute to shortening the time required to issue regular passports to citizens residing abroad.”
