Temperatures to fall in north and center, dust expected in western Iraq

BAGHDAD — Temperatures will decline across northern and central Iraq on Wednesday, with a smaller drop in the south, the General Authority for Meteorology said.

The authority said sunny summer conditions will prevail with mostly clear skies and some cloud over the Kurdistan Region. Temperatures will fall several degrees in the north and center and by a few degrees in the south, with daytime conditions ranging from hot to very hot, particularly at midday, before rising again slightly in central and northern areas in the coming days.

Moderate northwesterly winds of 20 to 30 km/h, gusting to 45 km/h, will raise dust in western, central and southern areas during the day before easing in the evening. Visibility will run between eight and 10 kilometers, dropping to four to six kilometers, and at times three to five, in dusty areas.
