Dust to ease Tuesday as rain and thunderstorms return to north

BAGHDAD — Central and southern Iraq will see improving conditions Tuesday as Monday’s dust storm clears, while northern areas face light to moderate thunderstorms and rain, the Meteorological Authority said.

Temperatures will drop by several degrees in central and southern regions, with a smaller decline in the north. Winds of 10–20 km/h will intensify during the day, reaching up to 50 km/h and raising dust and sand in some areas. Visibility will improve across central and southern regions but remain at 3–5 km in areas still affected by dust.

Monday’s storm turned skies red at the Trebil border crossing in western Anbar as it swept eastward across the country.
