Rain in Kurdistan Region Thursday, with wet conditions continuing through weekend

BAGHDAD — Iraq will see mostly clear skies Thursday with cloud cover in central areas and partly to fully cloudy conditions in the north and south, the General Authority for Meteorology said, with light to moderate rain, lightning and thunder forecast for the Kurdistan Region and light rain possible in scattered southern areas. Light snowfall is possible over high mountain peaks.

Temperatures will rise slightly in central and northern areas, with cold mornings and nights turning milder through the day. Winds will be variable and light during the day, shifting to moderate southeasterly in the evening.

Unstable conditions will continue through the weekend, with rain forecast in the north on Friday and Saturday. Temperatures will rise gradually Friday and Saturday before dropping noticeably on Sunday and Monday.
