Drones strike two Peshmerga bases in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, wounding three fighters

ERBIL — Drone attacks targeted Peshmerga bases in both Erbil and Sulaymaniyah governorates on Wednesday, wounding three fighters, the Kurdistan Region Ministry of Peshmerga said.

The ministry said it “strongly condemns these terrorist acts” and called on Iraq’s commander-in-chief to “fulfill his legal duty and set a limit to these internal violations,” adding that “urgent and necessary steps must be taken to prevent these outlaw groups from repeating such acts.” It said Iraq’s commander-in-chief and joint operations command had already been informed of previous attacks on Peshmerga positions.

Iran’s IRGC and allied Iraqi militias have carried out over 300 attacks on the Kurdistan Region since the war began Feb. 28, killing eight people and wounding 51, according to Community Peacemaker Teams – Iraqi Kurdistan. The attacks have struck military bases, diplomatic compounds, oil fields, refugee camps, government facilities and civilian areas, with at least 21 civilian homes hit or damaged by drone debris or explosive remnants.
