Rain, mountain snow forecast across Iraq on Thursday

BAGHDAD — Iraq will see rain in several areas and light snowfall over mountainous regions on Thursday, the General Authority for Meteorology said.

Central and southern regions will be mostly clear with some cloud cover, while light rain is expected north of the central region. The Kurdistan region will see partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with light to moderate rain and periods of heavier rainfall, with light snowfall over mountainous areas.

Temperatures will remain similar to Wednesday in the central and northern regions and rise slightly in the south.

Southwesterly winds in central and northern regions will reach 20 to 30 km/h, increasing to 50 km/h in western areas and raising dust. Southern winds will be light and variable at 5 to 10 km/h. Visibility will range between 8 and 10 kilometers, dropping to 2 to 4 kilometers in dusty and heavily rainy areas.
