Al-Sudani discusses Palestine with British ambassador
BAGHDAD, November 12 — Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani renewed, on Sunday, during his meeting with British Ambassador Stephen Hickey, the emphasis on the need for major countries to take a stance to prevent the serious violations and clear breaches of international law in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
A statement from the Al-Sudani office received by the 964 network stated:
“Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani received today, Sunday, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom in Iraq, Mr. Stephen Hickey.
During the meeting, discussions took place on the overall public relations between the two countries and the key areas for their development, serving the common interests of their people.
The developments in Gaza and the continuous aggression faced by the Palestinian people were also discussed. In this regard, Mr. Sudani reiterated the necessity for major countries to have a position against this aggression and to play their responsible role within the international community to prevent the serious violations and clear breaches of international law in the occupied territories.
Mr. Prime Minister emphasized that the Iraqi security forces are committed to maintaining security and stability throughout Iraq in the face of all threats and challenges.
On his part, the British Ambassador affirmed his government’s keenness to cooperate with Iraq to find solutions to the crisis in Gaza and prevent its expansion to other parts of the Middle East.”
