Cold, partly cloudy Thursday for Iraq with fog in the north

BAGHDAD — Iraq will see partly cloudy skies and cold conditions Thursday, with dense fog expected in parts of the north during morning hours, the General Authority for Meteorology and Seismology said.

Skies will be partly cloudy with occasional clear periods, turning cloudier in the northern regions, including the Kurdistan Region, with chances of light rain in eastern sections. Visibility will improve gradually as the day progresses.

Temperatures will be similar to Wednesday, with cold to very cold conditions in the morning and at night and cold daytime hours.

Winds will be variable and light at 5 to 10 kilometers per hour, with occasional calm. In the west, winds will shift to southeasterly at 10 to 20 kilometers per hour.

Visibility is forecast at 8 to 10 kilometers, dropping to 5 to 7 kilometers in the morning due to haze and below 1 kilometer in fog.
