Partly cloudy skies and dense morning fog forecast for Iraq

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s weather is expected to remain mostly clear on Sunday with scattered clouds, turning partly cloudy in some areas later in the day, according to the General Authority for Meteorology.

Morning fog, ranging from moderate to dense, is forecast in parts of the central and southern regions but is expected to dissipate by noon. Daytime temperatures will remain similar to Saturday, with a slight increase in some areas. Conditions will be cold during the day and very cold at night and early morning.

Winds will be mostly calm and variable, shifting to light southeasterly winds at 5–10 km/h by evening.

Horizontal visibility will range from 8 to 10 km, but will drop to between 5 and 7 km in hazy areas, and may fall below 1 km in areas affected by dense fog.
