Diwaniyah suspends Thursday work due to heavy rain

DIWANIYAH — The Diwaniyah Provincial Council announced the suspension of official working hours for Thursday, December 18, due to potential heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions.

According to a statement, the decision excludes service departments, which will operate at 50% capacity, and health departments, which will follow an on-call shift system.

The council said the suspension aims to “preserve the safety of citizens” amid the current weather conditions.

Iraq saw unsettled weather on Wednesday, with widespread cloud cover, varying rain intensity and dense morning fog that could sharply reduce visibility in parts of the country.

The authority said conditions should begin improving Friday, with more stable weather and clearer skies across most areas.
