Al-Sudani, French ambassador discuss expanding bilateral cooperation
BAGHDAD – Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani met with French Ambassador Patrick Durel on Wednesday to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation, with a focus on energy, economic, educational, and security ties.
According to a statement from Al-Sudani’s media office, the two officials reviewed “ways to enhance and expand cooperation across various fields” and affirmed their mutual interest in “activating the memorandums of understanding previously signed, particularly in the energy sector.”

Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani met, on Wednesday, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Iraq, Mr. Patrick Durel.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as relations with the European Union more broadly, and explored ways to enhance and expand cooperation across various fields. The talks also addressed several issues of mutual interest at both the regional and international levels.
Both sides affirmed their shared interest in strengthening cooperation and activating the memorandums of understanding previously signed, particularly in the energy sector, as well as in economic, educational, and security fields.
