Thunderstorms and dense fog hit Iraq as unstable weather conditions continue

BAGHDAD — Iraq is experiencing unstable weather conditions on Tuesday, with thunderstorms and intermittent rainfall affecting central, southern, and parts of western regions, according to a forecast from the General Meteorological Authority.

The report from the authority’s Forecast Department, stated that the weather will be partly cloudy, turning overcast at intervals. Light to moderate rainfall is expected, accompanied by thunderstorms and occasional heavy downpours in western areas.

In parts of the south, scattered light showers are also likely. Dense to moderate fog developed across wide areas of the country during the morning, excluding western regions, leading to reduced visibility. The fog is expected to gradually dissipate by midday.
