Morning fog and scattered rain forecast across Iraq
BAGHDAD — Iraq’s weather will remain unstable over the coming days with alternating clear and partly cloudy skies, light rainfall in some areas, and morning fog, according to the General Meteorological Authority’s forecast division.
Temperatures are expected to decrease slightly in some regions, while horizontal visibility may vary due to fog formation, especially in the morning hours. Light to moderate rainfall is forecast by the end of the week in southern areas and scattered parts of northern and central areas.
On Sunday, clear weather is expected in central and northern regions, with intermittent cloud cover, particularly in the eastern parts of the north. In the south, skies will be partly cloudy, with increased cloud density at night and a chance of light rain in scattered areas.
Fog of moderate to heavy intensity is expected in many areas, excluding the western regions. Visibility may drop below 1 kilometer during morning hours before gradually improving by midday.
Winds will generally be northwesterly at 10–20 km/h, while in northern and eastern sections they will be variable and mostly calm.
Horizontal visibility is expected between 6 and 8 kilometers, dropping to less than 1 kilometer in fog-affected areas before improving later in the day.
