Teen killed in motorcycle crash near Erbil’s Balisan
BALISAN — A 17-year-old was killed Sunday in a collision between a motorcycle and a pickup truck near the village of Khoran on the Balisan–Shakarta road in the Balisan subdistrict, part of Shaqlawa district in Erbil governorate, local health officials told 964media.
Farhad Aziz, director of administration at Balisan Hospital, said, “The young man who died in the accident was from the village of Berawa in the Balisan Valley and was born in 2008.”
Aziz said the teenager suffered severe injuries and died before reaching the hospital. “There was nothing we could do to save him,” he said, adding that the body was transferred to the Erbil Forensic Medicine Department for examination.
