Woman killed after being struck by truck near Erbil

ERBIL — A 25-year-old woman was killed Monday afternoon after being struck by a truck on the Erbil–Duhok highway near the village of Gazna, local authorities and witnesses said.

The accident occurred around 3 p.m., according to eyewitness Haysem Rashid, who told 964media he “saw the truck driver hit the woman and drag her with the vehicle, leading to her death.”

“The truck driver later surrendered himself to security forces,” Rashid said.

Aram Najat, director of the Erbil Forensic Department, confirmed to 964media that the victim’s body was transferred to the department for examination before being released to her family.
