Police: Woman killed two days after wedding, suspect confesses in Salah Al-Din
SALAH AL-DIN — Salah Al-Din Police Command announced Sunday that it has solved the killing of a woman who was murdered two days after her wedding, saying the suspect confessed to committing the crime with a “large sharp knife” out of revenge.
According to police, the victim was found slain in a barn used for cows and sheep.
In a statement, the command said, “Based on information received about a killing committed with a sharp tool, a specialized team of experienced investigators from the Beiji Police Department and the Criminal Investigation Unit was formed under the direct supervision of the Salah Al-Din Police Commander.”
Police added, “Within hours, the team identified and arrested the perpetrator. After in-depth questioning, the details of the crime were uncovered, and the weapon—a large knife—was seized based on the suspect’s confession.”
Authorities confirmed that “the motive for the killing was revenge,” and that “the investigative judge ordered the suspect’s detention in accordance with Article 406 of the Penal Code.”
The Ministry of Interior’s Police Affairs Agency described the case as an example of “the vigilant efforts of Salah Al-Din Police in pursuing criminals and bringing them to justice.”
