Nouri al-Maliki discusses Iraq’s stance on Palestinian issue with French ambassador
BAGHDAD, October 31 — On Tuesday, the leader of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, discussed with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Eric Chevallier, Iraq’s position regarding the Palestinian issue and the people’s aspirations to attain their legitimate rights. Al-Maliki warned Western countries of the anger that could arise among Arab populations if the war on Gaza continues.
The statement from al-Maliki’s office, received by Network 964, mentioned the following:
“The leader of the State of Law Coalition, Mr. Nouri al-Maliki, received the Ambassador of the Republic of France to Iraq, Mr. Eric Chevallier, in his office today.
During the meeting, they discussed the developments in the region and the repercussions of the Zionist aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
Mr. Nouri al-Maliki reaffirmed Iraq’s position regarding the Palestinian issue and the aspirations of the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights. He emphasized that the ongoing systematic violations by the Zionist occupation in Gaza require the entire world to take more than just condemnation and denunciation. He praised the stances of European peoples and solidarity marches that took place in Britain, America, and several European countries in rejection of the Zionist aggression.
Mr. Nouri al-Maliki warned Western countries of the anger of Arab populations if the genocidal wars led by the Zionist entity against the Palestinian people continue. He called on the European Union to maintain its relations with Arab nations by supporting their demands to halt the war.
On his part, Ambassador Chevallier expressed Paris’s desire to expand cooperation with Baghdad, expressing hope for de-escalating conflicts and enhancing stability throughout the Middle East.”
