Mobile café in Erbil attracts patrons with aphorisms
ERBIL — A resident of Bnaslawa district in Erbil has operated a café out of the trunk of his car for years.
Speaking to 964media, Rebwar Hussein said he began the project after lacking the resources to rent a shop or open a large café.
“I didn’t have the ability to rent a proper place, so I decided to turn the trunk of my car into a café to provide for myself and my family,” Hussein said. At first, he started his work using a small vendor’s cart.
Hussein, who has a passion for writing and poetry, decorated his café with verses and sayings carved on natural wood, which he says attracts the attention of passersby and customers.
“I’ve visited many places and of course street cafés are nice, but I wanted mine to be different and draw attention,” he added.
Dozens of quotes are displayed at the café, such as: “After one lie, every truth becomes doubtful” and “The heart is not a cup of coffee to be offered to everyone.”
Hussein currently operates his café from sunset until after midnight.
