Al-Abadi, Al-Amiri discuss political dialogue, regional tensions in Baghdad meeting
BAGHDAD — Former Iraqi PM Haider Al-Abadi, head of the Al-Nasr Coalition, met with Hadi Al-Amiri, secretary general of the Badr Organization, for talks on Iraq’s internal challenges and growing regional tensions between Israel and Iran, according to a statement Sunday from Al-Abadi’s office.
The two leaders emphasized the need to “intensify dialogue among political forces” to overcome crises, stabilize the country, and improve public services. Their discussions also addressed recent regional developments, including what the statement referred to as “Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.” Both parties reject practices that “threaten security and stability” in the region.

The meeting included an extensive discussion of the political, security, and economic situation the country is experiencing amid internal challenges and rapid regional and international developments.
Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining national unity and intensifying dialogue among political forces to overcome crises, achieve stability, and provide services to citizens. They also discussed developments in the region and the Zionist aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, stressing the need to respect the sovereignty of states and reject the aggressive practices carried out by the entity in the region, which threaten its security and stability.
The two sides also stressed the importance of prioritizing national interest in all positions.
