Driver killed in crash on Kalar–Rizgari Road after losing control

KALAR — A young driver was killed early Sunday in a crash on the road between Kalar and Rizgari, according to the Garmiyan Traffic Directorate.

The crash took place near the Sheikh Hasan Talabani Bridge when a passenger traveling from Rizgari toward Kalar struck the bridge barrier and collided with a parked SUV underneath.

The driver of the Avalon, born in 2004, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was transferred to the forensic medicine department in Kalar.

Traffic officials released images from the site and said a team responded immediately. An investigation is underway.
