Weapons and Explosives Seized in Sulaymaniyah’s Darbandikhan

SULAYMANIYAH — Police in Darbandikhan district of Sulaymaniyah governorate have seized a cache of weapons and explosives and arrested three individuals, local authorities said on Wednesday.

“Last night, police forces raided a house in Darbandikhan and seized a large number of various weapons and explosives,” Darbandikhan District Commissioner Suleiman Mohammed told 964media. “Three individuals were arrested in relation to the case.”

The seized items included grenades, TNT, RPGs, and other heavy weapons. Mohammed confirmed that the suspects are Kurdish residents of Darbandikhan. Investigations are ongoing to determine the purpose behind possessing the explosives and whether they were intended for criminal or other use.
