Raparin to host photography exhibition highlighting cultural and tourist landmarks
RAPARIN — The General Directorate of Culture and Arts in Raparin is organizing a photography exhibition to promote the region’s historical, cultural and tourist sites, officials announced Sunday.
Hiwa Mustafa, director of the Raparin Culture and Arts Directorate, told 964media the exhibition is scheduled for April and will be held under the theme “The Language of the Photograph.” The directorate has invited all photographers in the region to submit their work for inclusion.
“We aim to further promote the Raparin Administration through photographs that capture its historical, cultural and tourist landmarks,” Mustafa said. “Until now, these aspects have not been sufficiently utilized for promotion.”
Mustafa said the event will also serve to bring together local talent. “Raparin is home to many skilled photographers, and this exhibition is an opportunity to highlight their work,” he said.
After the exhibition, the selected photographs will be published in a book for public display. The submission period is open for 15 days.
Raparin is an autonomous administrative region within the Sulaymaniyah Governorate in the Kurdistan Region. It includes the Ranya District, located northeast of Sulaymaniyah city.
