Kirkuk worker dies from electrocution while painting house
KIRKUK — A 32-year-old worker died from electrocution Saturday evening while painting a house in Kirkuk’s Shorja neighborhood.
The victim, identified as Haider Abbas, was electrocuted while working and died instantly. His body was later transferred to the Kirkuk Forensic Medicine Department.
A source at the forensic department told 964media, “The worker was painting a house when he was electrocuted and died immediately.”
The body was brought to the morgue by the police unit in charge at Aruba Police Station.
Abbas, originally from Diyala governorate, had been living as a displaced person in Kirkuk for several years.
Records indicate that this is the third work-related fatality in Kirkuk since the beginning of 2025.
