Real Madrid fans score discounts at Karbala stationery store with rival Barcelona fans left out

KARBALA — Real Madrid fans in Karbala have found a new reason to celebrate after every match, thanks to Al-Kamal Stationery. The store, located in the Al-Jami’a area across from Al-Harith Mall, offers a 10% discount exclusively for Madridistas the day after their team plays. Barcelona supporters, meanwhile, are excluded.

Store owner Hussein Subaih, a passionate Real Madrid fan, shared that the idea was inspired by the excitement of watching Real Madrid’s victory in the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund. Since then, the store has celebrated every Real Madrid game by offering discounts on books, stationery, and school supplies to fellow Madridistas.

“All employees at Al-Kamal Stationery are Real Madrid fans,” Subaih told 964media. “One day, we were cheering for the team during the Champions League final, and after their victory, the idea came to me to offer promotions to our customers after each match.”

The store, located in the Al-Jami’a area across from Al-Harith Mall, has become a hub for Real Madrid fans, turning match days into special events. In addition to the discounts, Al-Kamal Stationery organizes competitions for fans to predict match outcomes, with prizes ranging from store items to full Real Madrid kits.

Subaih emphasized the store’s loyalty to the club, saying, “Just as we love Real Madrid, we wanted our customers to know our passion for the team. That’s why we offer these discounts.”

The June 1, 2024, Champions League final marked a milestone for Real Madrid, as they secured their 15th European Cup title with a 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley Stadium. Dani Carvajal opened the scoring in the 74th minute, with Vinícius Júnior sealing the win in the 90th.

Despite the enthusiasm, Barcelona fans are left out of the celebrations. “Barcelona fans are not included in this offer,” Subaih said unapologetically.
