'The Americans will pay the price'

Kata’ib Hezbollah warns US over alleged use of Iraqi airspace in Israeli airstrikes on Iran

BAGHDAD — Kata’ib Hezbollah, a key militia group within the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, issued a strong warning to the United States on Monday, vowing retaliation for allegedly allowing Israel to use Iraqi airspace in airstrikes targeting Iranian military sites. The group condemned what it called “reckless actions” by both the U.S. and Israel, accusing them of coordinating the attacks against Iran.

The Israeli airstrikes, which took place early Saturday, targeted missile production facilities, missile arrays, and other military installations across multiple regions in Iran, including Tehran. The attacks reportedly came in response to an Iranian missile strike on October 1. Iran has claimed that the damage from these strikes was “limited,” but accused Israeli jets of using U.S.-controlled airspace over Iraq to launch long-range missiles at the Iranian sites.

“The Americans will pay the price for using Iraqi airspace,” Kata’ib Hezbollah declared in its statement, accusing the U.S. of maintaining control over Iraq’s skies and facilitating the strikes. The statement described the incident as an “unprecedented breach of Iranian sovereignty.” The group also alleged that Israeli aircraft used airspace over Jordan and Saudi Arabia as part of the operation.

The group warned that this “reckless and dangerous aggression” would not go unanswered and promised “severe consequences” for both the U.S. and Israel.
