Glazier falls to death from three-story building in Erbil

ERBIL — A 28-year-old glazier lost his life after falling from a three-story building while on the job in Erbil. Despite receiving over 10 hours of medical care, the worker passed away at Rojava Hospital yesterday.

Ahmed Jamal, a colleague, told 964media that the victim, who had moved to Erbil with his wife a few years ago, was skilled in his trade. “He fell during work and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but despite hours of treatment, he didn’t survive,” Jamal explained.

The worker’s body has since been transported back to his hometown of Smaqoli, in the Koya district, for burial.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about worker safety in the Kurdistan region, where many workplaces often neglect the use of protective gear despite regulations meant to enforce safety measures.
