Dhi Qar Provincial Council member escapes car bomb attack in Nassiriya
DHI QAR – Dhi Qar Provincial Council member Nagham Al-Ibrahimi narrowly escaped harm on Wednesday after a car bomb exploded in her vehicle in Nassiriya. Her husband sustained minor injuries in the blast, according to a senior security official.
“An adhesive explosive device detonated when the Tahoe vehicle belonging to Council member Nagham Al-Ibrahimi was started on Al-Bu Fayyad Street in the Al-Hardan area,” the official told 964media.
Al-Ibrahimi’s husband was injured in the explosion and was quickly transported to the hospital for treatment. Security forces responded to the scene and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and potential motives behind the attack.
Dhi Qar Provincial Council President Ezzat Al-Nashi condemned the attack, calling on security forces to thoroughly investigate. “We strongly condemn the attack that targeted Council member Nagham Al-Ibrahimi by detonating her car,” Al-Nashi told 964media. “We urge security agencies to fulfil their duties by launching a full investigation into the incident and uncovering the circumstances surrounding the attack.”
