Over 56,000 tourists visit Erbil
ERBIL — The Erbil Tourism Administration reports a surge in tourism over the past two days, with approximately 56,000 visitors converging on the city during the Eid al-Fitr festivities. The majority of these visitors originate from southern Iraq, indicating a notable interest in Erbil’s attractions from within the country. Additionally, a significant number of tourists have arrived from European countries and other parts of Kurdistan.
Tayman Sholo, originally from Syrian Kurdistan, has resided abroad for the past 12 years. His current visit to Erbil signifies his first experience in the city. “Erbil is a beautiful city, and I feel very peaceful here,” expressed Sholo.
Hamid Fattah, a tourist from Iranian Kurdistan, expressed his feelings while exploring the historic Erbil Citadel. “Visiting Erbil feels rejuvenating,” remarked Fattah, underscoring the city’s appeal as a destination.
