Iraq makes it four from four in dominant rout

In the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup, the Iraqi national football team, also known as the Lions of Mesopotamia, clinched a decisive 5-0 victory against the Philippines in Manila. This win highlighted Iraq’s dominant performance on the international stage.

The goal scorers for Iraq were Ayman Hussein, who netted twice, Amir Al-Amari, Zidane Iqbal, and Zaid Tahseen, each contributing to the significant triumph. This match resulted in Iraq’s fourth victory in the fourth round of the qualifiers, propelling them to the top of Group Six with the maximum 12 points from four games.
