Iraqi cabinet’s Facebook page hacked

BAGHDAD — Today, the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced that its Facebook page was compromised, with unauthorized changes made to its posts. The breach appears to have occurred five days ago.

The Digital Media Center has released a statement advising the public to avoid clicking any links on the hacked Facebook page of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers.

The breach resulted in unauthorized posts about AI and technology on the Council’s Facebook page. The page underwent significant alterations, including an updated description focused on software, a changed location to Burbank, California, USA, and a new email address for contact.

These unauthorized changes remain on the page as of publication.
