Akre to replace blue tarp on rooftops with neutral grey for Newroz

AKRE — In preparation for the Newroz celebrations, the Akre municipality has initiated a campaign to replace the blue synthetic coverings on the rooftops of several homes in the district’s older neighborhoods.

This initiative seeks to boost the aesthetic appeal of the area by introducing earth-colored tarpaulins, moving away from the existing navy blue eyesores. These coverings, typically made from polyethylene or other durable synthetic materials, have been used extensively to prevent roof leaks. Though the actual materials used can vary, polyethylene is a common choice due to its robustness and weather resistance.

In a significant partnership, the municipality is collaborating with the Haydar organization, an NGO known projects across various sectors, including humanitarian, environmental, relief, archaeological, and tourism development projects.

Bilind Reza Zubair, the mayor of Akre, informed 964media that all homes currently utilizing synthetic coverings on their rooftops would transition to the new earth-colored material. The municipality has secured the necessary materials, and the replacement process is expected to be completed promptly within the next two days.

Mayor Zubair further stated, “From today onwards, we urge all shopkeepers to cease bringing blue synthetic coverings into the market to prevent its reuse. Everyone should transition to using the earth-colored material.”

This move not only enhances the visual appeal of Akre in anticipation of Newroz but also reflects a broader trend towards utilizing materials that blend more naturally with the environment, offering both practicality and aesthetic improvement.
