Baghdad crime division arrests suspect in 46 million dinar theft

BAGHDAD — The Baghdad Crime Division has arrested a person in connection with the theft of 46 million Iraqi dinars (about $31,000) from a currency exchange in Baghdad’s Mansour district, officials said Tuesday.

The arrest followed an intensive investigation by the Baghdad Anti-Crime Directorate, which acted on intelligence about the theft.

The case, after a detailed investigation, was referred to the investigating judge. According to the provisions of Article 446 of the Penal Code, which pertains to theft offenses, the judge ordered the accused to be detained.
