Burhan Nasser Mohammed Al-Namrawi sworn in as parliament speaker replacement

BAGHDAD, January 30 — Burhan Nasser Mohammed Al-Namrawi was sworn in to Iraq’s Council of Representatives on Tuesday, succeeding Mohammed Al-Halbousi the ousted speaker of the country’s parliament.

Al-Namrawi took his constitutional oath as confirmed by a statement received by 964media. He takes over the former speakers place more than two months since his predecessor, Al-Halbousi, was ousted by a judicial ruling that stripped him of his parliament seat and leadership role.
