New southern route linking Kut to Baghdad opened

BAGHDAD, January 29 — Authorities opened a new road linking Kut to Baghdad on Monday in a ceremony at the Al-Luj checkpoint south of the capital.

The government’s service and engineering team released a statement, which said:

The Service and Engineering team inaugurated the southern entrance to Baghdad (Al-Luj) today, under the sponsorship of Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa’ Al-Sudani. The event was attended by the head of the Service and Engineering team, Jaber Al-Hassani, along with advisors and members of the service team. This achievement is considered one of the accomplishments promised by the team for 2024 for our beloved country.
