Senior commanders in Nineveh review election security plan
NINEVEH — Deputy Commander of Joint Operations and head of the Higher Security Committee for the 2025 parliamentary elections, Qais Al-Muhammadi, chaired an expanded meeting at the Nineveh Operations Command to review security and coordination plans for securing the upcoming elections.
According to a statement from the Joint Operations Command, the meeting was attended by senior military and security officials, including representatives from the Independent High Electoral Commission.
Al-Muhammadi “listened to a detailed briefing on the security plan for the upcoming elections in Nineveh” and stressed “the importance of enforcing the law and unifying efforts to ensure the success of this constitutional entitlement.”
He emphasized that “providing an environment for citizens to reach polling stations is essential.”
“The security of the electoral process is a national duty, and there must be continuous work and field presence from all security leaders,” Al-Muhammadi said, adding that Nineveh is witnessing “significant reconstruction,” and that security forces are tasked with “a national mission” during the elections.
