Warns of legal action against violators
Ministry of Defense bans military uniforms on social media after fight goes viral
BAGHDAD, 22 January – The Directorate of Intelligence in the Ministry of Defense issued a new directive on Monday, strictly prohibiting the appearance in or posting of military uniforms on social media platforms. It warned that legal action would be taken against violators.
This directive comes in the context of a recent incident where two officers were detained following an alleged scuffle that was captured on video and subsequently went viral on social media.
The Ministry’s move appears to be a response to this incident, aiming to maintain discipline and the image of the military institution.
