Iraq’s December oil exports top $6 billion

BAGHDAD — Iraq earned more than $6 billion from oil exports in December 2025, with shipments rising above November levels, the Ministry of Oil said Sunday.

In a statement dated Jan. 25, 2026, the ministry said “the total oil exports and revenues achieved for December 2025, according to statistics issued by the State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO), amounted to 107,651,061 barrels of crude oil including condensates, with revenues exceeding $6,388,429,000.”

The statement said “total crude oil exports for December from fields in central and southern Iraq reached 100,420,048 barrels,” while exports from the Kurdistan Region through Turkey’s Ceyhan port totaled “5,997,527 barrels.”

It added that “exports to Jordan amounted to 309,712 barrels,” and that “exports from the Qayyarah field reached 923,774 barrels.”

For comparison, the ministry said Iraq exported 106,593,352 barrels of crude oil including condensates in November 2025, generating revenues of more than $6.595 billion. Exports from central and southern Iraq totaled 98,709,795 barrels, while shipments from the Kurdistan Region through Ceyhan reached 7,583,733 barrels, and exports to Jordan amounted to 299,824 barrels, according to a statement issued Dec. 25, 2025.
