Two suspects arrested for stealing livestock Duluiya
SALAH AL-DIN — Security units in Duluiya district, Salah al-Din governorate, on Tuesday arrested two suspects accused of stealing livestock.
In a statement, the Salah al-Din Police Command said “under the direction and follow-up of the police chief, detachments from the Duluiya Anti-Crime Office arrested the suspects A.R.S. and A.K.M. after information confirmed their involvement in stealing livestock from a farm inside the district.”
Authorities issued an arrest warrant under Article 446 of the Penal Code, which assigns detention as the penalty for theft offenses not covered by other articles, and allows a fine when the value of stolen goods is low. “Their location was raided and they were apprehended,” the statement added.
During what the command described as standard investigations, the suspects admitted to stealing 16 sheep belonging to the complainant identified by the initials S.B.M. and selling them at the Ishaqi livestock market. The investigating judge ordered their detention under the relevant charge.
The police command said it will continue taking all legal measures to pursue suspects and protect citizens’ property.
