Clouds, cooler temperatures and chances of light rain forecast across Iraq

BAGHDAD — Iraq’s General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring on Monday issued its forecast for Nov. 24 and the days ahead, reporting increased cloud cover, a slight chance of rain in some regions and a drop in temperatures, particularly in the north.

The authority said Monday’s conditions would be generally clear with scattered clouds during the day, increasing in the evening and at night as cloud layers build over western areas.

Temperatures were described as near normal in central and southern regions with a slight decrease in some locations, while the northern region is expected to be cooler.

Winds will be variable and light at 5 to 10 kilometers per hour. In western regions they shift to a southeasterly direction at night. Horizontal visibility is expected to be between 8 and 10 kilometers, falling to 6 to 8 kilometers in areas affected by light fog.

The Nov. 25 outlook shows cloud cover across northern and southern regions with a chance of rain in the central region. On Nov. 26, conditions are expected to be partly cloudy with a possibility of light showers in northern areas.

From Nov. 27 to 28, the weather is expected to be clear with passing clouds across all regions. Temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages and visibility is forecast at 8 to 10 kilometers.
